Full groom.

Bath, brush-out, a cut to the pattern of the coat, ears, nails, feet and face. Two to three hours, drop-off to pick-up.

Six classes, by weight

The six dogs stand on one ground line, the lightest at the left and each class a little taller than the last. Find the weight first and then the coat.

Which coat is my dog's

Three coats are priced. The same icons are on the coat keys in the price window on the home page.

Smooth
Short, flat hair that lies close to the skin: boxers, beagles, Boston terriers.
Double
A dense, soft undercoat under a harder outer coat that sheds in clumps each spring and autumn: labs, retrievers, shepherds. A double coat is brushed out and thinned, never shaved.
Wavy or curly
Hair that tangles when it is not combed through: poodles and doodles, spaniels, wheaten terriers, and long silky coats such as a Maltese's.

Both visits start with a brush-out and end with a dry coat. The full groom adds the cut.

The first quarter hour of de-matting is not charged, so three quarter hours is two charged at $20.

N.B.

  1. A dog needs a current rabies vaccination. Bring the certificate, or give us your vet's name and number at drop-off.
  2. Every dog is weighed on the scale by the door. A dog of exactly 50 lb is in the 31 to 50 bracket and 51 lb is in the next. We cannot take a dog over 130 lb.
  3. The chalk board by the door shows each dog's name and pick-up time. Past thirty minutes after it, it is $10 for each further quarter hour.
  4. Cancel by telephone by 5 the day before and there is nothing to pay; after that the booking is charged at half.
  5. A coat matted to the skin is shaved only with your consent, asked for before the clippers come on. De-matting is $20 for each quarter hour after the first.
  6. If a dog cannot finish, we stop, call you and charge only for the work done.
