Gallery: the tools, the towels and the floor by the door

Six plates, set the way a catalogue sets them. They are stock photographs from Pexels, chosen to show the kind of thing described. None of them is a picture of this shop. Every photographer is credited under the plate.

The six plates

A comb, a clipper and two pairs of shears laid out on a black rubber grooming mat among clumps of cut hair.

A dog lying still on a pale floor with its two front paws together, seen from above.
Plate 2.A dog's front paws, lying still. Paws are touched last, after the shoulder, the chest, the back and the legs.Stock photograph by Valeriya, from Pexels. Not a picture of this shop. The photograph on Pexels
Muddy paw prints across a dark concrete floor, with a black and white dog standing at the edge of the picture.
Plate 3.Paw prints on a concrete floor after rain. Most Saturday dogs come in like this. The first thing that happens is the scale.Stock photograph by James Collington, from Pexels. Not a picture of this shop. The photograph on Pexels
A small wet dog with only its face showing, wrapped in a thick white towel, with a groomer's apron beside it.
Plate 4.A small dog wrapped in a towel before any dryer is on. The towel is the one that fits, which is why the shelves are sorted by weight.Stock photograph by Tima Miroshnichenko, from Pexels. Not a picture of this shop. The photograph on Pexels
A person's hands holding a dog's paw in one hand and a pair of nail clippers in the other, on a dark grooming table.
Plate 5.A nail trim: one hand holds the paw and the other holds the clippers. A nail trim alone is $18.Stock photograph by Goochie Poochie, from Pexels. Not a picture of this shop. The photograph on Pexels
A slicker brush being drawn through the long pale coat of a large dog lying on a wooden floor.
